2024 Annual General Meeting

On Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 September 2024, the International ISBN Agency held its Annual General Meeting. The venue for this year's event was the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand building in Paris, France.

We enjoyed a very successful, informative and well-attending meeting, and our thanks must firstly go to colleagues at AFNIL, which runs the ISBN agency for France and which organised the AGM. Their hard work in arranging all aspects of the meeting was a significant factor in the AGM's success. We thank them sincerely.

Of course, we also thank the 84 delegates that participated in person. These delegates came from 58 institutions across the world, mostly ISBN agencies but some from other industry organisations including Syndicat National de l'Edition, GS1, the IPA, the ISSN International Centre and, of course, the Bibliothèque nationale de France itself. In addition, we were pleased to be able to live stream the first morning of the AGM remotely to those ISBN agencies not able to send delegates to Paris. The delegates contributed to some lively discussions about ISBN, the publishing industry and the International ISBN Agency's current and forthcoming activities.

The 2025 AGM will be held in São Paulo, Brazil and we look forward to that event greatly.
